Today was a very late start. Two days of running around with very less food has made us less energetic. As usual after a heavy breakfast we left the hotel. Two dropouts today, so it was only six of us. Three adults and three children.
First stop was Sacre Coeur.
While the rest of the crowd took the funicular up, I walked all the way up. The weather was nice and pleasant and there was a slight drizzle. The climb was fun and I was up there before the rest of the crowd came up.
After taking pictures, we went into the church. A huge church with gorgeous stained glass windows, beautiful paintings on the roof, huge dome, service going on, choir singing and organ music all put together gave a blissful effect. Even the kids didn’t want to leave out of there.
But we had to leave and head to Versailles. One long trip…the kids kept themselves busy by playing games and munching on snacks and I was looking out of the window and enjoying the view.
Versailles was beautiful and quiet. But the queues were ridiculously long. We decided not to go in. Took pictures from the outside, had lunch at McDonald’s and headed back. While the two men who don’t like rides went on to Disney just to see it from outside, the three kids and I came back to the hotel as we were tired.
Only when we reached I realised that I had lost my purse. My purse of more than ten years with cash, debit cards, etc was gone.
The rest of the evening was spent in the room relaxing with the kids.
* Will do a separate post about the lost purse and how I got it back!
